In the 7th minute, Lauro Carneiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sam Yang was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a rather tough play, Esporte Club Bahia's Luiz Gustavo Paes got a free kick in the 10th minute. Patric Hjortberg charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patric Hjortberg the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 16 minutes into the game, Esporte Club Bahia's Viggo Lidström nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sam Yang made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Sam Yang showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viggo Lidström in the 19th minute of the match. The supporters of Esporte Club Bahia booed when Samba Fotboll U21 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patric Hjortberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Samba Fotboll U21's goal looked a bit too open when Lauro Carneiro came free, but Sam Yang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Esporte Club Bahia getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Lauro Carneiro hit a great ball. Marcelo Lomba acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 42nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ulf Löfkvist. 47 minutes into the game, Viggo Lidström cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Sam Yang was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Samba Fotboll U21 players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Esporte Club Bahia were winning 0-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Viggo Lidström to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Samba Fotboll U21's Kevin Stålberg got a free kick in the 65th minute. Samba Fotboll U21's Patric Hjortberg got his second yellow card of the match in the 68th minute. The referee ordered Patric Hjortberg off the ground. Patric Hjortberg kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Samba Fotboll U21's goal looked a bit too open when Tiago Xavier came free, but Sam Yang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute, Fredrik Söderberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sam Yang made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Lauro Carneiro sent off a good shot on target.
