Marcelo Lomba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Vieri in the 2nd minute of the match. 3 minutes had been played when some careless play by Esporte Club Bahia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Christian Vieri was slow to take the kick. During this time Green Hell F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. Christian Vieri scored 0-2 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcelo Lomba, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Vieri in the 11th minute of play forced Esporte Club Bahia's goalkeeper Marcelo Lomba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Christian Vieri in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcelo Lomba saved Esporte Club Bahia from getting behind. With a little luck, Green Hell F.C.'s Fernando Prassov got control of the ball when Lauro Carneiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marcelo Lomba came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Green Hell F.C.'s Christian Vieri. But to his dismay, Christian Vieri quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 23rd minute, Christian Vieri left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Green Hell F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Green Hell F.C.'s Fernando Prassov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Green Hell F.C. from getting a goal against them. Marcelo Lomba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christian Vieri in the 28th minute of the match. Green Hell F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Christian Vieri in the 29th minute. A nice corner shot did that Christian Vieri got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marcelo Lomba quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some careless play in the Esporte Club Bahia defense, Radomil Ogrodowicz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marcelo Lomba. The Esporte Club Bahia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcelo Lomba should have stopped the shot. After 34 minutes of play, Green Hell F.C.'s Christian Vieri made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcelo Lomba was left in no man's land by his defense there! Christian Vieri's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcelo Lomba read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. When Christian Vieri came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Green Hell F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Christian Vieri couldn't finish the play. Green Hell F.C.'s Christian Vieri got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marcelo Lomba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Vieri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-7 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 51st minute, Daniil Asimakopoulos reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marcelo Lomba. The goal made the score 0-8. Fernando Prassov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viggo Lidström in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Esporte Club Bahia's goalkeeper Marcelo Lomba, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Christian Vieri managed to get in a good position for a shot. Green Hell F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Christian Vieri was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelo Lomba breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 74th minute, Christian Vieri reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marcelo Lomba. The goal made the score 0-9. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Esporte Club Bahia's goalkeeper Marcelo Lomba, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Marcelo Lomba didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 80th minute, which inside left pole to 0-10. 83 minutes into the match, Green Hell F.C.'s Christian Vieri sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Marcelo Lomba narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 85 played minutes Esporte Club Bahia got a freekick which was hit by Jean Sampaio. In the 88th minute Lauro Carneiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Prassov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
