After a rather tough play, DONPATO's Lambis Tsekouras got a free kick in the 5th minute. In the 8th minute Benedito de Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jailson Teles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 11 minutes, Alkan Soysaltürk successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Benedito de Sousa took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jailson Teles. Jailson Teles dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. 23 minutes into the match, DONPATO's goalkeeper Alkan Soysaltürk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edu Antunes. Alkan Soysaltürk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dario Alegría, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. If Benedito de Sousa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jailson Teles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benedito de Sousa in the 26th minute of play. Edu Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alkan Soysaltürk having to interfere. Alkan Soysaltürk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walmyr Salles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jailson Teles didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Benedito de Sousa went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. 36 minutes into the match, DONPATO's goal looked a bit too open when Walmyr Salles came free, but Alkan Soysaltürk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jailson Teles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lambis Tsekouras in the 40th minute of play. Edu Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alkan Soysaltürk having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Benedito de Sousa made the kick off in the second half. AVAÍ F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 52nd minute, when Benedito de Sousa scored to the left of an out of position Jailson Teles, making the score, 1-4. 56 minutes into the match, Desiderio Hitz dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jailson Teles, 1-5. 59 minutes into the match, DONPATO's goal looked a bit too open when Almir Matos came free, but Alkan Soysaltürk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Innocenzio Corales kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. 62 minutes into the game, Benedito de Sousa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jailson Teles. Benedito de Sousa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-6. AVAÍ F.C. made a substitution. Claus Van De Wiele replaced Dario Alegría. Dé Sensø was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 72 minutes into the match. After 71 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for DONPATO! AVAÍ F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Elias Figueroa in the 75th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of DONPATO's goalie and right to Edu Antunes. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. DONPATO's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Walmyr Salles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 83rd minute Walmyr Salles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alkan Soysaltürk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, Walmyr Salles notched a goal, 2-6, to the right of DONPATO's Alkan Soysaltürk.
