With a little luck, Poli Timisoara's Ovidiu Adrian got control of the ball when József Albert tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcus Batista made a kick off. Dráusio Ortiz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bartosz Erland's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mauro Primeiro got free with Dráusio Ortiz in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Poli Timisoara's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Horst-Peter Unterberger in the 64th minute.
