Gilvan Sanches was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Bengt Svanér came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the North Hill United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bengt Svanér couldn't finish the play. Bengt Svanér struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Gilvan Sanches didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for North Hill United. The supporters of North Hill United booed when Green Squad FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conrado Pernambucano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bengt Svanér received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Gilvan Sanches tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Green Squad FC defense, Alexander Tan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gilvan Sanches. The Green Squad FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gilvan Sanches should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Bengt Svanér's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gilvan Sanches was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. North Hill United were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Green Squad FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tommi Van Der Meren took the corner. In the 34th minute of the match North Hill United got a corner. Green Squad FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tommi Van Der Meren ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well done corner resulted in Nils De Geutter drilling the ball in to score 0-3 behind Green Squad FC's goalkeeper. Joos Teurfs made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ulisses Antunes in the 43rd minute. In the 44th minute Alexander Tan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilvan Sanches saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. North Hill United's Joos Teurfs proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save North Hill United from getting a goal against them. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jessie Pinkman was the one to do the kick off. In the 77th minute, Carel Impens ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gilvan Sanches was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. 80 minutes into the match, North Hill United's Alexander Tan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gilvan Sanches narrowly saved just below the crossbar. North Hill United's Carel Impens got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gilvan Sanches stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexander Tan's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. In the 86th minute North Hill United were awarded a corner. Stephan Jannis went to the cornerflag to take it. Green Squad FC's Gilvan Sanches played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carel Impens in the 90th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Green Squad FC's Damaso Rivas got a free kick in the 91st minute. After having played for 92 minutes, Stephan Jannis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. North Hill United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stephan Jannis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The North Hill United supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing North Hill United would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
