But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Timoteo Columbo couldn't finish the play. In the 13th minute the ball was on its way in behind Blackblue United's goalkeeper Leonardo Maquilanda, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Blackblue United getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Sixto Seijas hit a great ball. Timoteo Columbo scored 0-1 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leonardo Maquilanda, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 23 minutes of play, Academia 1903's Timoteo Columbo made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leonardo Maquilanda was left in no man's land by his defense there! Primo Speranza made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Maximiliano Abuleta sent off a good shot on target. In the 40th minute Blackblue United were awarded a corner. Vito Cardoso went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Blackblue United's corner Vito Cardoso fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Primo Speranza quite easily take care of the ball. Leonardo Maquilanda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Timoteo Columbo in the 42nd minute of the match. Harald Ek made a great header on Academia 1903's corner, it was just that Blackblue United's Leonardo Maquilanda managed to reach the ball for a save. A collision led to Blackblue United getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Ramon Reynoso hit a great ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sixto Seijas was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Blackblue United's goalkeeper Leonardo Maquilanda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Timoteo Columbo. Vito Cardoso hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Blackblue United's Leonardo Maquilanda got control of the ball when Timoteo Columbo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 61st minute, Timoteo Columbo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Academia 1903's Jacobo Galoer was substituted for Aldo Maju. 68 minutes into the match, Academia 1903's Nicanor Morenø sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leonardo Maquilanda narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nicanor Morenø could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Leonardo Maquilanda made a huge save. Leonardo Maquilanda stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicanor Morenø's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. The audience was convinced that Nicanor Morenø's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonardo Maquilanda was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. 83 minutes into the match, Blackblue United's goal looked a bit too open when Jeremias Ezkerra came free, but Leonardo Maquilanda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Lucien de Neutere got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Leonardo Maquilanda quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Nicanor Morenø's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Leonardo Maquilanda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Nicanor Morenø succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-6 in the 94th playminute. The Academia 1903 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Academia 1903 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
