Titan Palermo charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Titan Palermo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Serbia y Mantonegro's Titan Palermo got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 4th minute Eriberto Lucas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rik Heck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With 6 minutes on the clock, Saka Kaká commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 6th minute, one of Serbia y Mantonegro:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Serbia y Mantonegro. When the match had been going on for 9 minutes, Marília AC's Eriberto Lucas got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Rik Heck. Jacinto Loureiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benito Camela, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Serbia y Mantonegro's Benito Camela got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eriberto Lucas had several of the Serbia y Mantonegro's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 22 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Rik Heck as he didn't even see the shot coming. 25 minutes into the match, Serbia y Mantonegro's goal looked a bit too open when Bai Feng Ting came free, but Rik Heck reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 27 minutes of play, Marília AC's Eriberto Lucas made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rik Heck was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 30th minute, Cleto Solustiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Abel Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eriberto Lucas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benito Camela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Jacinto Loureiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eriberto Lucas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rik Heck read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 44th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eriberto Lucas to make the kick off.
