Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gennadiy Blatun stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Samuel Fiúza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leonid Petrov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Domingos Lencastre might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Josue Ayala. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Domingos Lencastre ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Domingos Lencastre got free with Josue Ayala in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 61st minute, Aleksey Braga sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Gremio Viana's Samuel Fiúza didn't even have to move. 62 minutes into the game, Albi Koka was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gremio Viana's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Феникс Санкт-Петербург the free kick. A collision led to Gremio Viana getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Albi Koka hit a great ball. Josue Ayala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tony Påk in the 64th minute of play. Domingos Lencastre blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Josue Ayala having to make a save. Josue Ayala showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Domingos Lencastre, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Josue Ayala showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domingos Lencastre in the 71st minute of the match. 73 minutes into the match, Gremio Viana's Domingos Lencastre sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Josue Ayala narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Domingos Lencastre could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Josue Ayala made a huge save. A sloppy throw-in by Leonid Petrov in the 81st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Gremio Viana's Amado Melo. Феникс Санкт-Петербург's Josue Ayala played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Paredes in the 82nd minute of play. Gremio Viana's Adalberto Leite managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Tudor Sălcudeanu in the 84 minute of the game. Joaquim Paredes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Josue Ayala read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that Adalberto Leite got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Josue Ayala quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to Феникс Санкт-Петербург getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Kirill Latyaev hit a great ball. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Феникс Санкт-Петербург lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
