After 19 minutes of play, Club Atlético Lanús's Édouard Bacon made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Besim Orgen was left in no man's land by his defense there! Besim Orgen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Atlético Lanús. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lothaire Maddox to strike the kick off in the second half. Fernando Navarro Montoya showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Codrin Dobrea in the 89th minute of the match. Şemsettin Demirci scored 3-3 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fernando Navarro Montoya, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
