Dalmacio Llorenc sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 28 minutes into the game, Elano Guerra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Boca Juniors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Herrier the free kick. Dalmacio Llorenc recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Boca Juniors's Mathias Sabóia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelino Mouricio in the 43rd minute of play. 48 minutes into the match, Flávio Paraibano dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Faustino Ofelio, 1-0.

Faustino Ofelio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinaldo Dante, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Boca Juniors's Mathias Sabóia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelino Mouricio in the 56th minute of play. 57 minutes into the match, Herrier's goal looked a bit too open when Frank França came free, but Faustino Ofelio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Herrier's Faustino Ofelio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinaldo Dante in the 58th minute of play. Faustino Ofelio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Reinaldo Dante's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. In the 68th minute, Severiano Bide ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mathias Sabóia was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Severiano Bide received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mathias Sabóia came out and tried to block the shot, but Severiano Bide slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 75th minute. Marcelino Mouricio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 84 minutes into the game, Severiano Bide cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Mathias Sabóia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 88th minute, Flávio Paraibano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dalmacio Llorenc's late challenge caught a Boca Juniors's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dalmacio Llorenc helped the player get up and apologised. Dalmacio Llorenc hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. In the 97th minute, Frank França made a precise shot to the right of Faustino Ofelio. Herrier's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Herrier's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
