Mekki Item was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Aldo Mannie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nistor Popilean in the 16th minute of play. In the 18th minute of the match Bandung Tigers got a corner. Ripa FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Wang Zheng Yun ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Nistor Popilean managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Mekki Item showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gu Chang Peng in the 21st minute of the match. Aldo Mannie stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nistor Popilean's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. A collision led to Bandung Tigers getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Wang Zheng Yun hit a great ball. Mekki Item made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gu Chang Peng in the 26th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gu Chang Peng in the 28th minute of play forced Bandung Tigers's goalkeeper Mekki Item to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aldo Mannie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zulkarnaen Mandaga, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 32nd minute Gu Chang Peng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mekki Item saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute, Mateo Lalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mateo Lalla made in the 41st minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Bandung Tigers's Haji Gille. Bandung Tigers's Mekki Item played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gu Chang Peng in the 44th minute of play. Aldo Mannie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zulkarnaen Mandaga, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gu Chang Peng to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gu Chang Peng in the 55th minute of play forced Bandung Tigers's goalkeeper Mekki Item to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mekki Item took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gu Chang Peng, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wang Zheng Yun hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Gu Chang Peng sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Prospero Tomi kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Gu Chang Peng's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mekki Item read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Mekki Item showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gu Chang Peng, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Ripa FC made a substitution. Ricardo Bochini replaced Kazimierz Domin. In the 71st minute Ripa FC were awarded a corner. Placido Pero went to the cornerflag to take it. Ripa FC's Placido Pero was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mekki Item in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 73 played minutes Bandung Tigers got a freekick which was hit by Bodo Amat. When Placido Pero came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Ripa FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Placido Pero couldn't finish the play. 76 minutes into the match, Bandung Tigers's goalkeeper Mekki Item had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Placido Pero. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Franz Grassme put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Mekki Item. Bandung Tigers's Fachri Puang was substituted for Leopoldo Azevedo. Ripa FC's Aldo Mannie played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nistor Popilean in the 82nd minute of play. Franz Grassme could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Mekki Item made a huge save.
