The audience was convinced that Mircea Berceanu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gregorio Lehior was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. A collision led to White StarZ getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Fausto Bertol hit a great ball. Gregorio Lehior took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fausto Bertol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 18 minutes into the match, Tacheros de Buenos Aires's goal looked a bit too open when Mircea Berceanu came free, but Gregorio Lehior reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gonçalo Vides took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adolfo Blanco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mattin Solbeida in the 22nd minute of play forced White StarZ's goalkeeper Gonçalo Vides to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mircea Berceanu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gregorio Lehior read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Tacheros de Buenos Aires's Adolfo Blanco slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gonçalo Vides. That made the score 1-0 after 30 minutes of play. 32 minutes into the match, Tacheros de Buenos Aires's goal looked a bit too open when Mircea Berceanu came free, but Gregorio Lehior reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Jordi Peñaranda got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gregorio Lehior quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. White StarZ's Gonçalo Vides played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mattin Solbeida in the 38th minute of play. When White StarZ's Mircea Berceanu in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tacheros de Buenos Aires's goalie prevented a goal. Vilius Gudavičius struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Gonçalo Vides didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tacheros de Buenos Aires. Gonçalo Vides made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vilius Gudavičius in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

White StarZ's Carlos Macias was substituted for Blas Armando. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mircea Berceanu in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gregorio Lehior saved Tacheros de Buenos Aires from getting behind. In the last second Gregorio Lehior throw himself and got hold of the ball when Mircea Berceanu in the 54thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Gregorio Lehior made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Fausto Bertol sent off a good shot on target. Gregorio Lehior showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mircea Berceanu in the 59th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mircea Berceanu in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gregorio Lehior saved Tacheros de Buenos Aires from getting behind. White StarZ's Gonçalo Vides played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claes Anundsson in the 65th minute of play. Mircea Berceanu might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gregorio Lehior. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mircea Berceanu ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 68th minute Mircea Berceanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregorio Lehior saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74th match minute, Tacheros de Buenos Aires was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Sein to maneuver through the defense. 75 minutes into the game, Fausto Bertol recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gregorio Lehior. Fausto Bertol showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. In the 91st minute, Jan-Ove Tunander hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 92nd minute, Fausto Bertol made a precise shot to the right of Gregorio Lehior. Tacheros de Buenos Aires's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mircea Berceanu in the 96th minute of play forced Tacheros de Buenos Aires's goalkeeper Gregorio Lehior to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The White StarZ supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing White StarZ would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
