In the 10thth minute of the game Luca Postelnicescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Galati Harbour Cats's Octavian Soare was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Vila Nova FC's goal looked a bit too open when Shi Li came free, but Fiori Mota reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Octavian Soare made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when Mete Nared sent off a good shot on target. In the 18th minute Shi Li shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fiori Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Galati Harbour Cats:s Octavian Soare showed great skill when he stopped Rubens Senna:s penalty. Luca Postelnicescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luca Postelnicescu in the 32nd minute of play forced Galati Harbour Cats's goalkeeper Octavian Soare to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fiori Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shi Li in the 38th minute of the match. In the 39th minute Vladimir Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Octavian Soare saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Shi Li had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Galati Harbour Cats's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vila Nova FC the free kick. Vila Nova FC made a substitution. Kåre Brolin replaced Mete Nared. Valeriu Zdrobiş kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Octavian Soare came out of the goal and Kåre Brolin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Galati Harbour Cats had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
