With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zé Paulo Montenegro in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ted Kobbeltvedt saved FC Drik from getting behind. Victor Mandrak dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marquinhos Marques got free with Ted Kobbeltvedt in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Sporting Dornelas FC's Chiquinho Barbosa got a free kick in the 38th minute. Gunvald Mitens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victor Mandrak having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
