After a defensive mix-up in Sawino SA's zone, Pranas Užkuraitis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Borys Lanczak came out of the goal and Pranas Užkuraitis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 6 minutes of play, Sawino SA's Waclaw Hludzenski made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elder Vergílio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Elder Vergílio was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Janusz Niedzwiecki showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 12 minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Sawino SA's Janusz Niedzwiecki slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Elder Vergílio. That made the score 3-0 after 15 minutes of play. 19 minutes into the match, Pranas Užkuraitis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Borys Lanczak. Sawino SA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pranas Užkuraitis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. 22 minutes into the match, FC St. Pauli's goal looked a bit too open when Janusz Niedzwiecki came free, but Elder Vergílio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Janusz Niedzwiecki reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Elder Vergílio. The goal made the score 4-1. Janusz Niedzwiecki could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Elder Vergílio made a huge save. Janusz Niedzwieckis short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Elder Vergílio to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 28th minute, Janusz Niedzwiecki reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Elder Vergílio. The goal made the score 5-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Janusz Niedzwiecki in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elder Vergílio saved FC St. Pauli from getting behind. Elder Vergílio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Janusz Niedzwiecki, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 41st match minute, FC St. Pauli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filippo Inzaghi to maneuver through the defense. 45 minutes into the game, Janusz Niedzwiecki recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Elder Vergílio. Janusz Niedzwiecki showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 6-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Pranas Užkuraitis made the kick off in the second half. Elder Vergílio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Waclaw Hludzenski, who was totally free with the ball in the 50th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pranas Užkuraitis in the 52nd minute of play forced Sawino SA's goalkeeper Borys Lanczak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Heintje Alemasov blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elder Vergílio having to make a save. When Waclaw Hludzenski came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Sawino SA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Waclaw Hludzenski couldn't finish the play. In the 63rd match minute, FC St. Pauli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pranas Užkuraitis to maneuver through the defense. 64 minutes into the match, FC St. Pauli's goal looked a bit too open when Janusz Niedzwiecki came free, but Elder Vergílio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 66 minutes into the game, Kaká Brasil was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC St. Pauli's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sawino SA the free kick. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Janusz Niedzwiecki put it in 8-1 from a short distance just to the right of Elder Vergílio. FC St. Pauli's Elder Vergílio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Janusz Niedzwiecki in the 71st minute of play. Elder Vergílio came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Sawino SA's Waclaw Hludzenski. But to his dismay, Waclaw Hludzenski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-1. Waclaw Hludzenski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Elder Vergílio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 77 minutes, Marcelino Loi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC St. Pauli and the Sawino SA players grew even worse after the yellow card. Waclaw Hludzenski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elder Vergílio having to interfere. Min Eta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Elder Vergílio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 82 minutes of play, Sawino SA's Nuno Tasso made it 10-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Elder Vergílio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Elder Vergílio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Waclaw Hludzenski, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Janusz Niedzwiecki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sawino SA's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
