Botafogo AP's José Pedro Bertassi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Botafogo AP from getting a goal against them. José Pedro Bertassi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 魏常适, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, Benficajuvestars's José Pedro Bertassi threw himself towards the right post 6 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from 魏常适, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 9 minutes into the game, Botafogo AP's Fritz Ernst Joinvilense nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rui Patrício made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Benficajuvestars's Jerry Nykvist got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fritz Ernst Joinvilense scored 0-2 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rui Patrício, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 17th match minute, Botafogo AP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fritz Ernst Joinvilense to maneuver through the defense. José Pedro Bertassi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerry Nykvist in the 19th minute of play. If Ziemowit Moczkiewicz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Botafogo AP's José Pedro Bertassi got control of the ball when Rob Van den Berch tried to sneak it across the goal line. José Pedro Bertassi made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Salvador Vilas Boas sent off a good shot on target. Botafogo AP's goalkeeper couldn't reach when 魏常适 34 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. In the 37th of the match, Jerry Nykvist tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but José Pedro Bertassi got in the way and made a wonderful save. Américo Moniz struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. José Pedro Bertassi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Benficajuvestars. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

52 minutes into the match, Benficajuvestars's goalkeeper Rui Patrício had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fritz Ernst Joinvilense. After 54 played minutes Botafogo AP got a freekick which was hit by Fritz Ernst Joinvilense. José Pedro Bertassi came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Benficajuvestars's Ziemowit Moczkiewicz. But to his dismay, Ziemowit Moczkiewicz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. In the 57th minute, Jerry Nykvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 60th minute, Fritz Ernst Joinvilense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rui Patrício took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fritz Ernst Joinvilense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rdth minute of the game Fritz Ernst Joinvilense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Benficajuvestars's Rui Patrício was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fritz Ernst Joinvilense might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rui Patrício. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fritz Ernst Joinvilense ran back to his position shaking his head. Benficajuvestars's Rui Patrício proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Benficajuvestars from getting a goal against them. 67 minutes into the match, 魏常适 had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José Pedro Bertassi. Botafogo AP's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 魏常适 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. A collision led to Botafogo AP getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Fritz Ernst Joinvilense hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Botafogo AP's Adriano Fernandez got a free kick in the 77th minute. Adriano Fernandez kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. 85 minutes into the game, Ziemowit Moczkiewicz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-3. José Pedro Bertassi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 94 minutes into the match, Botafogo AP's goal looked a bit too open when Rob Van den Berch came free, but José Pedro Bertassi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Botafogo AP's José Pedro Bertassi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Américo Moniz in the 95th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Benficajuvestars fans cheered their team off the field, for while Botafogo AP had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
