Atlanta's Tony Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 任正振 in the 17th minute of play. After 23 minutes of play, Pheonix FC's Vladislav Hampejs made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tony Guimarães was left in no man's land by his defense there! 30 minutes into the match, Vladislav Hampejs had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tony Guimarães. C. A. Atlanta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vladislav Hampejs was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in C. A. Atlanta's zone, Vladislav Hampejs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tony Guimarães came out of the goal and Vladislav Hampejs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tony Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 任正振 in the 36th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers 任正振 in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tony Guimarães saved C. A. Atlanta from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Thodoris Aggelou put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Tony Guimarães. 43 minutes into the match, 任正振 notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of C. A. Atlanta's Tony Guimarães. Tony Guimarães was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

The supporters of C. A. Atlanta booed when Pheonix FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian Kjellstrand didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Everardo Rio in the 57th minute of play forced Pheonix FC's goalkeeper Tyge Oehlerich to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. C. A. Federico Gil helped the player get up and apologised. Pheonix FC's Sonni Lei was substituted for Jørn Resø. Federico Gil hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. With a little luck, C. A. Atlanta's Tony Guimarães got control of the ball when Ian Kjellstrand tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Pheonix FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than C. A. Atlanta.
