With a couple of smart ball manuevers Roberto Puch in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tony Guimarães saved C. A. Atlanta from getting behind. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eloy Gaskon to make the kick off. The Lanús fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. Jake Hursey received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Atlanta defense, Eloy Gaskon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tony Guimarães. The C. A. Atlanta fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tony Guimarães should have stopped the shot. Eloy Gaskon might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tony Guimarães. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eloy Gaskon ran back to his position shaking his head. Tony Guimarães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eloy Gaskon in the 80th minute of the match. Eloy Gaskon scored 1-9 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tony Guimarães, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
