The corner ended in Rodrigo Pirmin almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Manchester United FC's Edwin van der Sar did a great save. In the 25th minute, Manchester United FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Saturnino Batista fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Celedonio Espiridion came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Tierra del Fuego FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Celedonio Espiridion couldn't finish the play. Natalio Heli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdemar Kuoppala, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Natalio Heli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdemar Kuoppala, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Taisto Pentsinen in the 35th minute of play forced Tierra del Fuego FC's goalkeeper Natalio Heli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edwin van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celedonio Espiridion in the 41st minute of play. Celedonio Espiridion took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edwin van der Sar. Edwin van der Sar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. With a little luck, Manchester United FC's Edwin van der Sar got control of the ball when Ismael Baumer tried to sneak it across the goal line. Natalio Heli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdemar Kuoppala in the 45th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Valdemar Kuoppala to strike the kick off in the second half. Tierra del Fuego FC's Natalio Heli proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Tierra del Fuego FC from getting a goal against them. Tierra del Fuego FC made a substitution. Dario Orlan replaced Ismael Baumer. Edwin van der Sar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celedonio Espiridion in the 91st minute of play. After 91 minutes of play, Tierra del Fuego FC's Celedonio Espiridion made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edwin van der Sar was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Manchester United FC defense, Dario Orlan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edwin van der Sar. The Manchester United FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edwin van der Sar should have stopped the shot.
