When Téo Rosa came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the FC Wil 1900 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Téo Rosa couldn't finish the play. Raul Leal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Lionel Paly made a huge save. Humberto Carmo hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tory Pryor in the 17th minute of play forced SC Freiburg 09's goalkeeper Ivo Guterres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Wil 1900's Tory Pryor was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ivo Guterres in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. SC Freiburg 09's Ivo Guterres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Téo Rosa in the 21st minute of play. FC Wil 1900's Lionel Paly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abílio Passos in the 23rd minute of play. Ivo Guterres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tory Pryor in the 27th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, FC Wil 1900's goal looked a bit too open when Abílio Passos came free, but Lionel Paly reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner led SC Freiburg 09's Mehmet Ferit İsmet to fire away a dangerous shot which Lionel Paly despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ivo Guterres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Téo Rosa in the 37th minute of the match. Abílio Passos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Lionel Paly tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abílio Passos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With 43 minutes on the clock, Máximo Lameiras commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The SC Freiburg 09 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2.
