The Hartlepool players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Queluzito were winning 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Turgut Zor made a kick off. Åke Stål showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hamílton Pena, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Queluzito were awarded a corner in the 57th minute after Hartlepool's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dagoberto Sabóia took the corner.
