When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Moritz Christe made a kick off. In the 50th minute Meinolf Rebe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dacian Lungu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 51 minutes had been played when some careless play by -BZF- Viper eSports's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Moritz Christe was slow to take the kick. During this time Academica Pulheim's players had a chance to rest. Academica Pulheim's Moritz Christe was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dacian Lungu in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 54th minute, Academica Pulheim's Carl Derm seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Carl Derm the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Academica Pulheim protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Carl Derm had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 54th match minute, Academica Pulheim was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carl Derm to maneuver through the defense.
