Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Ruud Geels took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 4th match minute, Verwachting was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilco Kosterman to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nicu Vornicu in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kees Veentjer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Verwachting's Kees Veentjer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicu Vornicu in the 10th minute of play. Ekhemos Kezdoglou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruud Geels, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th minute Nicu Vornicu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kees Veentjer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kees Veentjer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicu Vornicu in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute Nicu Vornicu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kees Veentjer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Verwachting's Ruud Geels got a free kick in the 24th minute. 29 minutes into the game, Denis Jilăveanu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Acatar's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Verwachting the free kick. In the 29th minute, Denis Jilăveanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nicu Vornicu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 38 minutes had been played when some careless play by Verwachting's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Constantin Bâlea was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Acatar's players had a chance to rest. 43 minutes into the match, Nicu Vornicu notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Verwachting's Kees Veentjer. Kees Veentjer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nicu Vornicu was the one to do the kick off. Verwachting's Kees Veentjer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Verwachting from getting a goal against them. After 54 minutes, Theo Zoontjens mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Verwachting and the FC Acatar players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 54 played minutes Verwachting got a freekick which was hit by Theo Zoontjens. Nicu Vornicu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nicu Vornicu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Kees Veentjer made a huge save. With a little luck, Verwachting's Kees Veentjer got control of the ball when Constantin Bâlea tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nicu Vornicu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Kees Veentjer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edgar Șeicaru kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Kees Veentjer made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Nicu Vornicu sent off a good shot on target. Nicu Vornicu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Kees Veentjer made a huge save. Edgar Șeicaru hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. 71 minutes into the match, Verwachting's goalkeeper Kees Veentjer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Constantin Bâlea. Kees Veentjer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nicu Vornicu in the 72nd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Edgar Șeicaru kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Kees Veentjer. That made the score 0-2 in the 74 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Verwachting's zone, Nicu Vornicu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kees Veentjer came out of the goal and Nicu Vornicu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, FC Acatar's Florin Martin got a free kick in the 83rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Theo Zoontjens in the 86th minute of play forced FC Acatar's goalkeeper Ekhemos Kezdoglou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Verwachting's Theo Zoontjens in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC Acatar's goalie prevented a goal. 89 minutes into the match, Verwachting's goal looked a bit too open when Stefanos Ntinopoulos came free, but Kees Veentjer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kees Veentjer was out of position in the 93 minute of play, and Nicu Vornicu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Nicu Vornicu really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. When Albert Grămescu came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the FC Acatar fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albert Grămescu couldn't finish the play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Acatar eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
