A collision led to Mainumby getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Gerardo Oinatz hit a great ball. Mainumby's Santiago Gau played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Han Ostermann in the 25th minute of play. Santiago Gau made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruud Geels in the 26th minute of play. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Han Ostermann sped through Mainumby's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Santiago Gau. 30 minutes into the match, Verwachting's Theo Zoontjens sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Santiago Gau narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Santiago Gau showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ruud Geels, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. 32 minutes into the match, Mainumby's goal looked a bit too open when Ruud Geels came free, but Santiago Gau reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Mainumby supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Verwachting's performance. The match ended with a win for Verwachting.
