Boris Behn was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Siniša Mihajlović showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Henk Horneber in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Béla Simon saved Edelényi Bányász from getting behind. Béla Simon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henk Horneber, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Patrik Újvári received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Boris Behn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Edelényi Bányász's Boris Behn threw himself towards the right post 14 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Iván Cordoba, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 19 minutes into the match, Sc Ajax Hirtenberg's goal looked a bit too open when Patrik Újvári came free, but Boris Behn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guo Jing Yuan in the 23rd minute of play forced Sc Ajax Hirtenberg's goalkeeper Boris Behn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 23 played minutes Edelényi Bányász got a freekick which was hit by Márk Kuti. With a little luck, Sc Ajax Hirtenberg's Boris Behn got control of the ball when Márk Kuti tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 33rd match minute, Sc Ajax Hirtenberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arne Eschenbaum to maneuver through the defense. But to his dismay, Guo Jing Yuan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arne Eschenbaum made a kick off. 50 minutes into the game, Carlos Fernando de Sena cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Béla Simon was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Boris Behn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrik Újvári, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edelényi Bányász's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Patrik Újvári in the 56th minute. The supporters of Sc Ajax Hirtenberg booed when Edelényi Bányász was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gyula Paál didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anselmo Bakar in the 61st minute of play forced Edelényi Bányász's goalkeeper Béla Simon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Siniša Mihajlović fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Edelényi Bányász's protests and gave Siniša Mihajlović a yellow card for diving instead. Márk Kuti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Boris Behn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. In the 77th minute Siniša Mihajlović shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Boris Behn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arne Eschenbaum's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 85thth minute, Béla Simon skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Patrik Újvári might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Boris Behn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Patrik Újvári ran back to his position shaking his head. 96 minutes into the game, Edelényi Bányász's Siniša Mihajlović nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Boris Behn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1.
