With his leg Gong Jun Feng managed to avoid a goal in the 6thth minute, when SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s David Elodio fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Gong Jun Feng, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Wilson Arósio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Andriy Lunin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 13th match minute, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orçun Yalınalp to maneuver through the defense. Gong Jun Feng stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of David Elodio's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. With a little luck, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Gong Jun Feng got control of the ball when Niculae Ungureanu tried to sneak it across the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Gong Jun Feng had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Niculae Ungureanu. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iulian Pietreanu in the 22nd minute of play forced SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goalkeeper Andriy Lunin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute David Elodio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gong Jun Feng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. were awarded a corner. Toralf Hell went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Toralf Hell almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Gong Jun Feng did a great save. Gong Jun Feng made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Bernardinho Alagoano sent off a good shot on target. Ödön Szily might have been able to make a better finish in the 27th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gong Jun Feng. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ödön Szily ran back to his position shaking his head. Gong Jun Feng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Elodio in the 29th minute of the match. In the 33rd minute, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s David Elodio dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Andriy Lunin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orçun Yalınalp in the 36th minute of the match. Andriy Lunin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iulian Pietreanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 37th minute Iulian Pietreanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andriy Lunin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Elodio in the 38th minute of play forced FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Gong Jun Feng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the match, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Orçun Yalınalp came free, but Andriy Lunin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andriy Lunin was left in no man's land by his defense there! The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Orçun Yalınalp stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gong Jun Feng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niculae Ungureanu in the 54th minute of play. If Steffen Michalsky had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Siegfried Danielzick was substituted for Ödön Szily. 61 minutes into the match, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Iulian Pietreanu came free, but Andriy Lunin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s David Elodio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gong Jun Feng narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 67 minutes into the match, SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s goal looked a bit too open when Orçun Yalınalp came free, but Andriy Lunin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gong Jun Feng was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the FC UNIREA Alba Iulia defense, David Elodio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gong Jun Feng. The FC UNIREA Alba Iulia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gong Jun Feng should have stopped the shot. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V.'s Nisar Burkart was substituted for Niculae Ungureanu. SC Freiburg 1904 e.V. were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of FC UNIREA Alba Iulia for a fine match.
