In the 10th minute Godfried Teunens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmir Catarinense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. La Bichineta's Humberto Salomone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Ruben in the 11th minute of play. After a rather tough play, ǺŁвǺтяØƶ - ƒรCмƶ's Zézinho Coutinho got a free kick in the 20th minute. La Bichineta's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Poncio Justo in the 27th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of ǺŁвǺтяØƶ - ƒรCмƶ's goalie and right to Arnaldo Pirmin. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. ǺŁвǺтяØƶ - ƒรCмƶ's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Godfried Teunens blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Walmir Catarinense having to make a save. Walmir Catarinense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Godfried Teunens in the 32nd minute of the match. Godfried Teunens's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Walmir Catarinense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Walmir Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Godfried Teunens in the 36th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marco Ruben was the one to do the kick off.
