If Fausto Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 11 minutes, Celsinho Corrêa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barcellos Mineiro FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celsinho Corrêa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fausto Mendonça recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Barcellos Mineiro FC's Vânderson Saa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raigo Vananurm in the 19th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Barcellos Mineiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Raigo Vananurm came free, but Vânderson Saa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Barcellos Mineiro FC's Dale Dolar in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Scarlet Speedster's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Mendonça in the 33rd minute of play forced Barcellos Mineiro FC's goalkeeper Vânderson Saa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vânderson Saa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raigo Vananurm in the 46th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Scarlet Speedster made a substitution. João Severino replaced Váldson Bittencourt. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dale Dolar to make the kick off. A collision led to Scarlet Speedster getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Christiano Fonseca hit a great ball. Naldo Proença made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dale Dolar in the 57th minute of play. In the 62nd minute Dale Dolar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Naldo Proença saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 63rd minute of the match Barcellos Mineiro FC got a corner. Scarlet Speedster's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Amílton Loyola ran over to the corner to take the kick. Barcellos Mineiro FC's Amílton Loyola was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Naldo Proença in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 65th minute João Severino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vânderson Saa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 72nd minute, Christiano Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jorge Carrascal took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Naldo Proença. Naldo Proença dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. The supporters of Barcellos Mineiro FC booed when Scarlet Speedster was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ryszard Janiczek didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Barcellos Mineiro FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Scarlet Speedster had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
