An unexpectedly hard shot by Bianco Cherubini in the 5th minute of play forced Esmeralda AFC's goalkeeper Jorge Armani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, David Banegas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Esmeralda AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but David Banegas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastián Torrico breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zülfü Sungur struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Sebastián Torrico didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esmeralda AFC. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bianco Cherubini in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jorge Armani prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Esmeralda AFC's Kong Kun Xu got a free kick in the 18th minute. Bianco Cherubini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jorge Armani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bianco Cherubini in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th match minute, C.F.Fuenlabrada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauricio Piorno to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Banegas in the 28th minute of play forced C.F.Fuenlabrada's goalkeeper Sebastián Torrico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rdth minute of the game Bianco Cherubini who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Esmeralda AFC's Jorge Armani was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when David Banegas got free with Sebastián Torrico in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mauricio Piorno kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Esmeralda AFC defense, Aquilino Luke kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jorge Armani. The Esmeralda AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorge Armani should have stopped the shot. In the 44th match minute, Esmeralda AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Niceto Matxin to maneuver through the defense. Jorge Armani showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Freddie Ljungberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. 46 minutes into the match, C.F.Fuenlabrada's goalkeeper Sebastián Torrico had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David Banegas. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After having played for 60 minutes, Freddie Ljungberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.F.Fuenlabrada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Freddie Ljungberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. C.F.Fuenlabrada's Edward Västerberg was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 62nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zülfü Sungur in the 65th minute of play forced C.F.Fuenlabrada's goalkeeper Sebastián Torrico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Esmeralda AFC's Jorge Armani got control of the ball when Topo Riquelme tried to sneak it across the goal line. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by Esmeralda AFC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Freddie Ljungberg was slow to take the kick. During this time C.F.Fuenlabrada's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Randy Doty almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Esmeralda AFC's Jorge Armani did a great save. 73 minutes into the match, Esmeralda AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Västerberg came free, but Jorge Armani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sebastián Torrico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrew Dalli in the 74th minute of play. Jorge Armani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Topo Riquelme in the 76th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the match, C.F.Fuenlabrada's goal looked a bit too open when Zülfü Sungur came free, but Sebastián Torrico reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eloy Calvino in the 83rd minute of play forced C.F.Fuenlabrada's goalkeeper Sebastián Torrico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Esmeralda AFC booed when C.F.Fuenlabrada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentin Esdras didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.F.Fuenlabrada's goalkeeper Sebastián Torrico, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 86th minute Edward Västerberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Armani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
