But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chen Ao Fan couldn't finish the play. In the 4th minute, Calle Melberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 6th minute Emmanuel Dennis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Erik Norström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vykans Vikingar's goalkeeper Marcus Ekrot, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Martin Mutumba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Erik Norström having to interfere. Emmanuel Dennis took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Karl-Erik Norström. Karl-Erik Norström dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Chen Ao Fan came free with the goalkeeper in the 20th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Marcus Ekrot could save by the left post. In the 22nd minute Martin Mutumba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karl-Erik Norström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Karl-Erik Norström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Mutumba in the 22nd minute of play. In the 25th minute of the match Vykans Vikingar got a corner. Skövde AIK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Fernan Berart ran over to the corner to take the kick. The audience was convinced that Chen Ao Fan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcus Ekrot was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Skövde AIK's Kevin Keegan got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The throw-in from Hugo Eden in the 36th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Skövde AIK's Calle Melberg. The audience thought a goal was coming when Calle Melberg got free with Marcus Ekrot in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Skövde AIK getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Filip Brolin hit a great ball. Alessandro Micucci fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Karl-Erik Norström having to interfere. Marcus Ekrot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chen Ao Fan in the 48th minute of play. After the first half Vykans Vikingar were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Martin Mutumba made a kick off. Martin Mutumba struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Karl-Erik Norström didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vykans Vikingar. Marcus Ekrot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kevin Keegan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 62 minutes, Calle Melberg mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Skövde AIK and the Vykans Vikingar players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 63rd match minute, Skövde AIK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Calle Melberg to maneuver through the defense. Chen Ao Fan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vykans Vikingar's Genaro Remicio was substituted for Alessandro Micucci. Vykans Vikingar's Börje Stål was substituted for Emmanuel Dennis. Karl-Erik Norström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jose Indalecio, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. In the 89th match minute, Skövde AIK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filip Brolin to maneuver through the defense. Karl-Erik Norström showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Genaro Remicio in the 91st minute of the match. Karl-Erik Norström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Börje Stål, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Skövde AIK's Georg Norström got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Karl-Erik Norström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Mutumba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Genaro Remicio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Vykans Vikingar played a much better game than Skövde AIK and deserved their victory. The Skövde AIK players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
