Cosmos Soccer Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Grant McKay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 23rd minute, Ivan Ţopescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Cosmos Soccer Club booed when CA Quake was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomi Giusti didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Victoriano Sustrai to make the kick off. Dan Gheară made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cayetano Aznaro in the 66th minute of play. Dan Gheară showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andres Ubelteso, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute.
