The ball went over the crossbar instead. Elias Novais hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. In the 31st minute Angelo Pessoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseu Bragança saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Elias Novais made in the 37th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Campus Douro Academy's Álvaro Machado. 41 minutes in the game Jorge Morais did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Teodoro Freire. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Angelo Pessoa during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Campus Douro Academy booed when AM United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelo Pessoa didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodoro Freire in the 45th minute of play forced Campus Douro Academy's goalkeeper Eliseu Bragança to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Angelo Pessoa made the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 51 minutes, Angelo Pessoa took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Eliseu Bragança to make any attempt to save it. A well-hit corner resulted in Rodolfo Montay heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Pierre-Olivier Ortiz hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. David Bastos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Caetano in the 96th minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. AM United had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
