In the 5th minute Zeng Xu Yuan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. German Cano charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed German Cano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 6th minute, German Cano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dida Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Witalis Brysz, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. 7 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Witalis Brysz came free, but Dida Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Witalis Brysz in the 11th minute of play. Moisés Arruda made a fantastic save in the 13th minute, when Alfredo Martins sent off a good shot on target. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zeng Xu Yuan in the 18th minute of the match. Moisés Arruda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Martins, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Zeng Xu Yuan came free, but Dida Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dida Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeng Xu Yuan, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Poetass FC's Moisés Arruda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Poetass FC from getting a goal against them. If Nestor Paraibano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dida Taffarel came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Poetass FC's Kalle Billberg. But to his dismay, Kalle Billberg quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 36th minute, Nestor Paraibano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Marquês de Herval fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 41 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when Zeng Xu Yuan came free, but Dida Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Witalis Brysz to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Poetass FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Martins came free, but Moisés Arruda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Poetass FC booed when Marquês de Herval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Paraibano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kalle Billberg could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Dida Taffarel made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Marquês de Herval's Nestor Paraibano got a free kick in the 58th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kalle Billberg in the 60th minute of play forced Marquês de Herval's goalkeeper Dida Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Zeng Xu Yuan dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dida Taffarel, 1-2. Moisés Arruda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nestor Paraibano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Witalis Brysz in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dida Taffarel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 72 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Witalis Brysz sped through Marquês de Herval's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dida Taffarel. Poetass FC's Váldson Miranda was substituted for Cleiton Carioca. In the 76th minute, Selami Rezan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Selami Rezan kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Poetass FC's Witalis Brysz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dida Taffarel. That made the score 1-4 after 83 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nestor Paraibano in the 85th minute of play forced Poetass FC's goalkeeper Moisés Arruda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dida Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zeng Xu Yuan in the 87th minute of the match. The supporters of Poetass FC booed when Marquês de Herval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. German Cano didn't get a good kick on the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Kalle Billberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dida Taffarel. Marquês de Herval's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kalle Billberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-5. The Marquês de Herval fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Poetass FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
