But to his dismay, George Grealish quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After having played for 5 minutes, George De Bruyne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Three Lions FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but George De Bruyne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 10th minute of the match, Fred Ferreira got a very nice opportunity to score, but George Buffon was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Kajetan Filanowski came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Three Lions FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kajetan Filanowski couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Grealish in the 13th minute of play forced Corumbaense F.C.'s goalkeeper Luís Eduardo dos Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Corumbaense F.C.'s Boguslaw Lampe got a free kick in the 38th minute. Luís Eduardo dos Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gunnar Ekeroth in the 45th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gunnar Ekeroth to make the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, George Grealish managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Three Lions FC's George Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fred Ferreira in the 58th minute of play. George Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank de Toledo in the 60th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruy Mota in the 65th minute of play forced Three Lions FC's goalkeeper George Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. George Grealish sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Three Lions FC's George Buffon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vânderson Camargo in the 74th minute of play. Three Lions FC's attentive Esteban Montrell managed to snatch the ball when Tiago Gabriel do Valle made a throw-in in the 77th minute of the game. After 81 minutes of play, Corumbaense F.C.'s José Pedro França made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. George Buffon was left in no man's land by his defense there! George Buffon came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Corumbaense F.C.'s Tiago Gabriel do Valle. But to his dismay, Tiago Gabriel do Valle quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. The supporters of Three Lions FC booed when Corumbaense F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilian Capixaba didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute of the match George Lukaku sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luís Eduardo dos Santos skillfully saved the ball. In the 95th minute, George Grealish got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Three Lions FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
