Brian Johnson came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC's Zula Turek. But to his dismay, Zula Turek quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 9 minutes into the match, Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC's Todd Gronow sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brian Johnson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Fasoli in the 17th minute of play forced Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC's goalkeeper Abelardo Janpier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Todd Gronow got free with Brian Johnson in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Goren Baños in the 32nd minute of play forced Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC's goalkeeper Abelardo Janpier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute, Todd Gronow got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brian Johnson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Todd Gronow, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 45th minute, Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC's Todd Gronow ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Brian Johnson. Brian Johnson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Todd Gronow to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51stth minute of the game Todd Gronow who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but 1947 FC's Brian Johnson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Brian Johnson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Todd Gronow in the 52nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Todd Gronow in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brian Johnson saved 1947 FC from getting behind. Todd Gronow blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Brian Johnson having to make a save. Brian Johnson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Todd Gronow, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. When Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC's Todd Gronow in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye 1947 FC's goalie prevented a goal. Abelardo Janpier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armando Fasoli, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. 1947 FC's Alejo Idacio was substituted for Goren Baños. Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC's Fausto Agüero quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Brian Johnson came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Barbieri de Ituzaingó FC's Todd Gronow. But to his dismay, Todd Gronow quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. 1947 FC's Anacleto Lluciano was substituted for Paco Jertec. When the match clock showed 83 minutes, the score became 7-0 when Todd Gronow sped through 1947 FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Brian Johnson. Alejo Idacio kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Todd Gronow sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Fausto Agüero kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Todd Gronow might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brian Johnson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Todd Gronow ran back to his position shaking his head. Brian Johnson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Todd Gronow, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. 1947 FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
