In the 4th minute, Leonides Rufio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 8 minutes into the match, Thomás Ramalho notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Crespo FC's Placido Eladio. Placido Eladio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Nilmar Torres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Prospero Arotza in the 11th minute of the match. It was a well-played corner which Ruben Poz managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. An unexpectedly hard shot by Prospero Arotza in the 15th minute of play forced Independente FC's goalkeeper Nilmar Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aílton de Almeida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Placido Eladio having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Prospero Arotza in the 19th minute of play forced Independente FC's goalkeeper Nilmar Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Placido Eladio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hílton Bertassi, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 21st minute, Aílton de Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nilmar Torres was a little too slow when Justino Selmo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 24th minute. The score was now 1-1. Feliciano Virila could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Nilmar Torres made a huge save. If Hílton Bertassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Justino Selmo might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nilmar Torres. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Justino Selmo ran back to his position shaking his head. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

51 minutes into the game, Fabrício Braga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Independente FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Crespo FC the free kick. Nilmar Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Prospero Arotza in the 63rd minute of play. Nilmar Torres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Feliciano Virila, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute Crespo FC were awarded a corner. Justino Selmo went to the cornerflag to take it. Crespo FC's Aaron Larpe was substituted for Ruben Poz. When Hílton Bertassi came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Independente FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hílton Bertassi couldn't finish the play. After having played for 71 minutes, Hílton Bertassi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independente FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hílton Bertassi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Crespo FC made a substitution. Severiano Javiar replaced Leonides Rufio. Placido Eladio came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Independente FC's Thomás Ramalho. But to his dismay, Thomás Ramalho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Crespo FC's Emilio Eufrasio was substituted for Andres Txaran. After 81 minutes of play, Independente FC's Aílton de Almeida made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Placido Eladio was left in no man's land by his defense there! Nilmar Torres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prospero Arotza, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Nilmar Torres showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Prospero Arotza in the 90th minute of the match. After 93 played minutes Independente FC got a freekick which was hit by Fabrício Braga. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Independente FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
