Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Noel Gaspar got the match started through his kick off. Edmundo Leite fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adélio Vaz having to interfere. Dimas Calheiros hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. SC Sabugueiro's Adélio Vaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tião Sá in the 9th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Matador EC's Arnaldo de Queirós got a free kick in the 13th minute. With 17 minutes on the clock, Gregório Severiano commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 16 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SC Sabugueiro! Dimas Calheiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Sandrinho Matorin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29th minute, Edmundo Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Matador EC's Sandrinho Matorin got control of the ball when António Brandão tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 33 minutes, António Brandão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Sabugueiro's supporters crossed their fingers, but António Brandão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. António Brandão in the 36thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sandrinho Matorin, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Edmundo Leite recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmundo Leite to strike the kick off in the second half. SC Sabugueiro's António Brandão got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Dimas Calheiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diogo Teves kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Edmundo Leite was extremely unlucky when he, in the 57th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Sandrinho Matorin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from António Brandão, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Enzo Madruga struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Sandrinho Matorin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Sabugueiro. 70 minutes into the match, Tião Sá had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adélio Vaz. SC Sabugueiro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tião Sá was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. When Edmundo Leite came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Matador EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Leite couldn't finish the play. The SC Sabugueiro fans' excitement grew in the 76th match minute when SC Sabugueiro's António Brandão looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Sandrinho Matorin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Brandão in the 79th minute of play. The audience was convinced that António Brandão's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sandrinho Matorin was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Tião Sá sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Edmundo Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to SC Sabugueiro getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Enzo Madruga hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomé Figueiras during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The goalkeeper, Adélio Vaz, was totally fooled by Matador EC's Ronaldo Pimenta, who 99 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The Matador EC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Matador EC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
