In the 9thth minute of the game Koulis Psomiadis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ÇORUM FK's Şahin Egelioğlu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. ÇORUM FK's Şahin Egelioğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dimosthenis Kakarnakis in the 10th minute of play. Şahin Egelioğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vaios Sakoulidis in the 20th minute of play. Vaios Sakoulidis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Şahin Egelioğlu having to interfere. Themistoklis Charalambakis was out of position in the 29 minute of play, and Ziya Onur Çağaçar capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ziya Onur Çağaçar really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. After 33 minutes, Ziya Onur Çağaçar mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ÇORUM FK and the Go Ahead Eagles players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zacharias Panagoulias to make the kick off. After 53 minutes, Feyzullay Şahbazoğlu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ÇORUM FK and the Go Ahead Eagles players grew even worse after the yellow card. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Vaios Sakoulidis took a quick shot and it went in 2-6 without a chance for Şahin Egelioğlu to make any attempt to save it.
