Roger Myles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the game, Illinois Bluewaters's Kevin Dubois nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Christian Sjödin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 19th minute, Kelly Humphries left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Illinois Bluewaters fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After 23 played minutes Illinois Bluewaters got a freekick which was hit by Sal Jarrell. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zachery Davison in the 25th minute of play forced Blåränderna's goalkeeper Christian Sjödin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Blåränderna's Christian Sjödin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dante Todd in the 26th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Blåränderna's Jens-Ola Wikander got a free kick in the 29th minute. Christian Sjödin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 高笑广 in the 30th minute of play. The supporters of Illinois Bluewaters booed when Blåränderna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. John Skager didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Sal Jarrell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Illinois Bluewaters's supporters rose to their feet, but Sal Jarrell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christian Sjödin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 43 minutes into the match, Blåränderna's goal looked a bit too open when Sal Jarrell came free, but Christian Sjödin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arvid Vallmans short, quick shot in the 45thth minute got Roger Myles to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 46 played minutes Illinois Bluewaters got a freekick which was hit by Zachery Davison. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Roger Myles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arvid Vallman, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Illinois Bluewaters's Kelly Humphries got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 57 minutes into the match, Blåränderna's goalkeeper Christian Sjödin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sal Jarrell. In the 58th minute, Dante Todd made a precise shot to the right of Christian Sjödin. Blåränderna's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Illinois Bluewaters's 高笑广 shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 71st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Christian Sjödin but with some difficulty. A collision led to Illinois Bluewaters getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Raymond Curran hit a great ball. Dante Todd hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Christian Sjödin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sal Jarrell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Illinois Bluewaters booed when Blåränderna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simon Mellbad didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sal Jarrell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christian Sjödin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dante Todd in the 86th minute of the match. Blåränderna's attentive Tommy Heggert managed to snatch the ball when Raymond Curran made a throw-in in the 89th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dante Todd in the 94th minute of play forced Blåränderna's goalkeeper Christian Sjödin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. John Skager kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match.
