Emanuel Carletti made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thiago Caniggia in the 13th minute of play. In the 16th minute Thiago Caniggia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Carletti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emanuel Carletti came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Sportivo Desamparados's Thiago Caniggia. But to his dismay, Thiago Caniggia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Sportivo Desamparados's Thiago Caniggia in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Domingo Cristofol in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emanuel Carletti saved Chelsea Football Club from getting behind. In the 31st minute Ivan Txeru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gianluca Augusto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emanuel Carletti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Thiago Caniggia, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. In the 42nd match minute, Chelsea Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aquilino Basualdo to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Baldomiro Sabino to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thiago Caniggia in the 52nd minute of play forced Chelsea Football Club's goalkeeper Emanuel Carletti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aquilino Basualdo was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 53 minutes into the match. In the 61st minute Thiago Caniggia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emanuel Carletti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matias Haitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Virgilio Bihar during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Sportivo Desamparados booed when Chelsea Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virgilio Bihar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thiago Caniggia came free with the goalkeeper in the 71st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. Thiago Caniggia in the 77thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. The Chelsea Football Club fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Sportivo Desamparados were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
