Paulo Renato Pernambucano hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. 8 minutes into the match, Fabiano Carneiro dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Chicão Peixoto, 1-1. 12 minutes into the match, Real Cruzeiro FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Henrique came free, but Andrézinho Mattos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Bruno Henrique notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Real Cruzeiro FC's Andrézinho Mattos. Andrézinho Mattos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Júlio Arruda was extremely unlucky when he, in the 18th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After some careless play in the Gato Preto FC defense, Edgar da Costa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Chicão Peixoto. The Gato Preto FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Chicão Peixoto should have stopped the shot. An unexpected shot in the 22nd minute by Edgar da Costa got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 25th minute, Cauan Abraão made a precise shot to the right of Andrézinho Mattos. Real Cruzeiro FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. After 28 minutes of play Gato Preto FC's Paulo Renato Pernambucano was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 31st minute, Cipriano Tavares made a precise shot to the right of Andrézinho Mattos. Real Cruzeiro FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. When the match had gone on for 34 minutes, Severino da Costa took a quick shot and it went in 3-4 without a chance for Chicão Peixoto to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Gato Preto FC booed when Real Cruzeiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabiano Carneiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 39 played minutes Gato Preto FC got a freekick which was hit by Cauan Abraão. After some fancy dribbling in the 42nd minute, Edgar da Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Real Cruzeiro FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgar da Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chicão Peixoto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Chicão Peixoto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Severino da Costa in the 47th minute. After the first half Gato Preto FC were leading 3-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bruno Henrique to strike the kick off in the second half. Chicão Peixoto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severino da Costa in the 56th minute of the match. If Edgar da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Gato Preto FC booed when Real Cruzeiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christiano de Barros didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Júlio Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute, Gato Preto FC's Cipriano Tavares dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-5. Bruno Henrique might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Andrézinho Mattos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bruno Henrique ran back to his position shaking his head. Bruno Henrique struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Andrézinho Mattos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gato Preto FC. In the 86th minute, Cauan Abraão made a precise shot to the right of Andrézinho Mattos. Real Cruzeiro FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-6. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Cauan Abraão put it in 3-7 from a short distance just to the right of Andrézinho Mattos. 94 minutes into the game, Edgar da Costa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-7. Chicão Peixoto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gato Preto FC were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Real Cruzeiro FC's much stronger midfield.
