The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Pepe Santoro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Călin Itoafă, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Edgar Cosoreanu got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Dănuț Roman came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the -BZF- Valea Buzăului fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dănuț Roman couldn't finish the play. The supporters of -BZF- Valea Buzăului booed when INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Advíncula didn't get a good kick on the ball. Higinio Barros kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Pepe Santoro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ioan Tudora, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB's Pepe Santoro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Cosoreanu in the 19th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Narciso Vergaray kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Maxim Zdrăilă. That made the score 1-0 in the 20 minute of play. Pepe Santoro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Irinel Borăscu in the 28th minute of play. In the 35th match minute, INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oscar Solustiano to maneuver through the defense. If Edgar Cosoreanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Higinio Barros during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Higinio Barros hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After having played for 42 minutes, Ioan Tudora managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ioan Tudora was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 44th minute, Edgar Cosoreanu made a precise shot to the right of Pepe Santoro. INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edgar Cosoreanu to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anacleto Giraldo to maneuver through the defense. Pepe Santoro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Cosoreanu in the 55th minute of the match. Ioan Tudora could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Pepe Santoro made a huge save. After a rather tough play, INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB's Luis Advíncula got a free kick in the 57th minute. If Călin Itoafă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 65 minutes into the match, INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Cosoreanu came free, but Pepe Santoro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Cosoreanu in the 67th minute of play forced INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB's goalkeeper Pepe Santoro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 67 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Edgar Cosoreanu fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Narciso Vergaray's late challenge caught a -BZF- Valea Buzăului's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Narciso Vergaray helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of -BZF- Valea Buzăului booed when INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Narciso Vergaray didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edgar Cosoreanu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Pepe Santoro when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Higinio Barros was shown his second yellow card after 77 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 77th match minute, INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Higinio Barros to maneuver through the defense. Edgar Cosoreanu didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-3 via right post in the game's 78th minute. -BZF- Valea Buzăului's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! Pepe Santoro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgar Cosoreanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 90th minute, -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Edgar Cosoreanu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pepe Santoro. Pepe Santoro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-4. The crowd rose to their feet as -BZF- Valea Buzăului's Edgar Cosoreanu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pepe Santoro. That made the score 1-5 after 94 minutes of play. When the final whistle sounded -BZF- Valea Buzăului left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than INDEPENDIENTE FUTBOL CLUB.
