Characate FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Valleslona F.C. the free kick. After 14 played minutes Characate FC got a freekick which was hit by Anastasio Gauargi. 16 minutes into the match, Characate FC's goalkeeper Silverio Sanson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raúl Martínez. In the 17th minute Harry Kane shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silverio Sanson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silverio Sanson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Raúl Martínez in the 18th minute. Tirso Benito stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Santo Romano's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. Characate FC's Silverio Sanson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Characate FC from getting a goal against them. When Valleslona F.C.'s Harry Kane in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Characate FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anselmo Manex was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Harry Kane fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silverio Sanson having to interfere. If David Lidman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Santo Romano to make the kick off. With a little luck, Valleslona F.C.'s Tirso Benito got control of the ball when David Lidman tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 63 minutes, Santo Romano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Characate FC and the Valleslona F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 63rd minute, Santo Romano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Silverio Sanson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rolando Silvestre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tirso Benito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Characate FC. The supporters of Valleslona F.C. booed when Characate FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Javier Pastore didn't get a good kick on the ball. Characate FC's Silverio Sanson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Kane in the 87th minute of play. Dario Olentzaro was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 89 minutes into the match. After 89 played minutes Characate FC got a freekick which was hit by Dario Olentzaro. After 92 minutes of play, Valleslona F.C.'s Harry Kane made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Silverio Sanson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Characate FC's Silverio Sanson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Kane in the 95th minute of play. The Valleslona F.C. players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
