Hernan Florian stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joel Quadros's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. 24 minutes in the game Nando Leão did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Toninho Goiano. Hernan Florian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Quadros in the 26th minute of the match. Serginho Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonzalo Rutenio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Joel Quadros came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the MINEIROS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Quadros couldn't finish the play. Joel Quadros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 45th minute Joel Quadros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hernan Florian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

After 52 played minutes INTER de Córdoba got a freekick which was hit by Cipriano Dalmu. Joel Quadros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Hernan Florian made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as MINEIROS's Joel Quadros slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hernan Florian. That made the score 0-1 after 53 minutes of play. Joel Quadros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Hernan Florian made a huge save. Hernan Florian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hugo Albuquerque in the 60th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hugo Albuquerque in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hernan Florian saved INTER de Córdoba from getting behind. After 75 played minutes MINEIROS got a freekick which was hit by Nando Leão. MINEIROS made a substitution. Juan Zanette replaced Nando Leão. MINEIROS's Vágner Gaspar was substituted for Christian Fernandes. 80 minutes into the game, Hugo Albuquerque was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MINEIROS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave INTER de Córdoba the free kick. The supporters of INTER de Córdoba booed when MINEIROS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Albuquerque didn't get a good kick on the ball. INTER de Córdoba's Hernan Florian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Quadros in the 82nd minute of play. MINEIROS's Joel Quadros got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Gonzalo Rutenio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Serginho Taffarel having to make a save. Joel Quadros was extremely unlucky when he, in the 92nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. A collision led to MINEIROS getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Juan Zanette hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gonzalo Rutenio in the 96th minute of play forced MINEIROS's goalkeeper Serginho Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched MINEIROS eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
