The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Róbson Garcia the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Austra VFC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Róbson Garcia had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of Spartans FC booed when Austra VFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Róbson Garcia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kitt Pegov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xaime Hinojosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 30 minutes into the match, Austra VFC's goal looked a bit too open when Xaime Hinojosa came free, but Kitt Pegov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Austra VFC's Kitt Pegov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Efraín Ruiz Tagle in the 31st minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, Austra VFC's Váldson da Silva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Nelson Tapia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Amado Fanta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kitt Pegov having to interfere. With a little luck, Austra VFC's Kitt Pegov got control of the ball when Daniel Barba tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Austra VFC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Chicão Gerber hit a great ball. Kitt Pegov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Efraín Ruiz Tagle in the 42nd minute of the match. After 44 played minutes Austra VFC got a freekick which was hit by Kit Vire. In the 47th minute Daniel Barba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kitt Pegov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Barba in the 58th minute of play forced Austra VFC's goalkeeper Kitt Pegov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcus Pollard kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Austra VFC defense, Efraín Ruiz Tagle kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kitt Pegov. The Austra VFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kitt Pegov should have stopped the shot. Nelson Tapia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gláuber Mazza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Austra VFC defense, Xaime Hinojosa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kitt Pegov. The Austra VFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kitt Pegov should have stopped the shot. Austra VFC made a substitution. Rômulo Saldanha replaced Nuno Severo. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Spartans FC fully deserved thier win.
