But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Augusto Fontes couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Locomotiva grena getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Percival Maciel hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Paulo Paulista got free with Jorge Dimas in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Wilfredo Figueroa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hílton Fernandez kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Paulo Paulista got free with Jorge Dimas in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The audience was convinced that Wilfredo Figueroa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dorian Machado was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wilfredo Figueroa to make the kick off. Jorge Dimas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match clock showed 73 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Hílton Fernandez sped through C.A. Calamuchita's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jorge Dimas. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jorge Dimas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 87 minutes into the match, Wilfredo Figueroa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dorian Machado, 4-1. Carolo Presebal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dorian Machado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Paulo Paulista in the 94th minute of play forced C.A. Calamuchita's goalkeeper Jorge Dimas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. C.A. Calamuchita's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
