With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aki Guardo in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Duarte de Barros saved Minotauro from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Aki Guardo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Duarte de Barros was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Aki Guardo sped through Minotauro's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Duarte de Barros. Duarte de Barros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LUIZ PANATO. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chiquinho Faria in the 40th minute of play forced Minotauro's goalkeeper Duarte de Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 45 played minutes Minotauro got a freekick which was hit by Emílio Matorin. 46 minutes into the match, Gualter Camargo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Duarte de Barros. Minotauro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gualter Camargo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Minotauro's Severino Guerra was substituted for Kiko Proença. Minotauro's Kaká Recife was substituted for Léo Cardozo. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Raphael Tepedino to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the game, Aki Guardo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Duarte de Barros. Aki Guardo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. Chiquinho Faria could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Duarte de Barros made a huge save. Guto Taffarel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Duarte de Barros made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chiquinho Faria in the 83rd minute. In the 87th minute, LUIZ PANATO's Gualter Camargo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-6.
