The audience was convinced that Noah Eriksson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ergin Ceviz was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. In the 13th match minute, Darıca Gençlerbirliği was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oğuzhan Sarıaslan to maneuver through the defense. Hummerfiskarna's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aybar Niyazi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After the first half Darıca Gençlerbirliği were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kurtuluş Gelenbe to make the kick off. If Kurtuluş Gelenbe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gottfrid Kullander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kurtuluş Gelenbe, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Darıca Gençlerbirliği's zone, Noah Eriksson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ergin Ceviz came out of the goal and Noah Eriksson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
