When Rubio Guardia came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Club Olimpia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rubio Guardia couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rubio Guardia in the 10th minute of play forced Mochila FC's goalkeeper Frederico Madureira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dalmacio Caldueño made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erling Halland in the 11th minute of play. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mochila FC's goalkeeper Frederico Madureira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rubio Guardia in the 16th minute of play forced Mochila FC's goalkeeper Frederico Madureira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Mochila FC booed when Club Olimpia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anibal Escrig didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Roberto Fonseca hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rubio Guardia in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Frederico Madureira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dalmacio Caldueño made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Jardel Matos sent off a good shot on target. In the 34th minute of the match Club Olimpia got a corner. Mochila FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luís Fernando Duarte ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Club Olimpia's corner Giro Rollan fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Frederico Madureira quite easily take care of the ball. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Giro Rollan sped through Mochila FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Frederico Madureira. Frederico Madureira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rubio Guardia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jardel Matos got free with Dalmacio Caldueño in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rubio Guardia in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Frederico Madureira saved Mochila FC from getting behind.

Frederico Madureira made a fantastic save in the 58th minute, when Roberto Bueldi sent off a good shot on target. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by Mochila FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luís Fernando Duarte was slow to take the kick. During this time Club Olimpia's players had a chance to rest. A collision led to Club Olimpia getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Giro Rollan hit a great ball. 60 minutes in the game, Giro Rollan got a free kick from a good position and fired away a shot. The shot didn't have enough spin and went out of bounds to the left of the goal. Rubio Guardia had several of the Mochila FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 69 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-3 score and a disappointed Frederico Madureira as he didn't even see the shot coming. Frederico Madureira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rubio Guardia's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Frederico Madureira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rubio Guardia in the 73rd minute of the match. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Olimpia's goalkeeper Dalmacio Caldueño, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Club Olimpia getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Alan Cano hit a great ball. Luís Fernando Duarte was extremely unlucky when he, in the 77th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Dalmacio Caldueño made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erling Halland in the 81st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rubio Guardia got free with Frederico Madureira in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 88th match minute, Club Olimpia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giro Rollan to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th match minute, Club Olimpia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcos Gómez to maneuver through the defense. Rubio Guardia in the 93rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Frederico Madureira, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Club Olimpia had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
