In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Luck's goalkeeper Nicu Mincu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. FC Luck's Eduard Mutu got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jimi Lindström stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Herkko Virolainen hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Sever Patriciu took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mauri Tervo. Mauri Tervo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Teuvo Latvanen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicu Mincu having to interfere. Teuvo Latvanen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Nicu Mincu made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in FC Luck's zone, Ilmo Möksy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicu Mincu came out of the goal and Ilmo Möksy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mauri Tervo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sever Patriciu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mauri Tervo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sever Patriciu in the 74th minute of the match. Mauri Tervo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sever Patriciu, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 85th minute, Sever Patriciu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Luck fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Niculae Scutaru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. One of Liverpool FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Luck:s goal. The referee gave FC Luck a penalty, 95 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Niculae Mercescu, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Liverpool FC's Mauri Tervo. 6-0. In the 98th minute Eduard Mutu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauri Tervo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. FC Luck fully deserved thier win.
